Guest @nt Posted September 18, 2004 Report Posted September 18, 2004 Just got my C500 on Orange UK  How much memory do they have standard? I got a 16MB mini-SD card but how much should I have available internally? Cheers - great forum by the way. :)
Guest shaund316 Posted September 19, 2004 Report Posted September 19, 2004 I think it's 28mb, but u can check if u go on the task manager, then menu-->6 and scrolling down
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted September 19, 2004 Report Posted September 19, 2004 Welcome to the site  If you are wondering about space for installing apps and games etc then the best think is to get a decent miniSD card and leave the phone's memory for emails and sms etc :) Grt yourself a 256MB card and it will last you a while.
Guest richyrich2 Posted September 21, 2004 Report Posted September 21, 2004 Hello all, forum newbie here - this is my first post! On the topic of memory, I just got 256MB miniSD for my C500 and I get some odd things happening: - I have selected "Storage Card" as the location for camera stuff. Half the time though when I take a picture it tells me I don't have space (there is at least 150MB free). - Tonight I copied a cab file onto there (the OSX home screen which fails install complaining about permissions/signing but that's another issue) and when I try to delete it (with File Manager), it tells me it doesn't exist!? Does it need to be initialised or something? Are they ever faulty? Thanks in advance, Rich
Guest squiggs1982 Posted September 21, 2004 Report Posted September 21, 2004 Hmm, I'm having difficulty recording video to the storage card. Says not enough memory, but well over 100mb. Seems to work for everything else. Any ideas? TIA! :)
Guest Twain Posted September 22, 2004 Report Posted September 22, 2004 richyrich2 the reason this may be happening is cab files remove themselves once they've been installed, possibly due to the install failin may just be confusing it, not sure in too much detail but i would have thought its something to do with that. With the homescreen actuallt installin somerestrictions are still in place on the phone meaning certain homescreens cannot be installed to remove these click on this => ota <= and follow the links to the decert page which also works with the c500. p.s. ive never had a problem with the video saving to the memory card. Hope this helps
Guest Twain Posted September 22, 2004 Report Posted September 22, 2004 Also, i've asked this in a post before but never recieved many replies so will bring it up again, what are people showing for their memory available, as in Ram, not storage. As mine always seems really low around 7meg even when nothing is running. TIA
Guest Confucious Posted September 22, 2004 Report Posted September 22, 2004 7Mb is low? I just went into task manager, stopped everything and it is showing 6,000Kb
Guest Jasonkruys Posted September 22, 2004 Report Posted September 22, 2004 Sounds about right. 6-7.5MB

Seems to work for everything else. Any ideas? TIA! :) I get exactly the same thing, records about 4 seconds then says out of memory (even though it says i have enough for 1hr currently) I 'think' it may be an sd card polling bug similar to the e200 sd bug (but not as severe), lets hope O fix on the next update
Guest squiggs1982 Posted September 24, 2004 Report Posted September 24, 2004 That's irritating! Ah well, fingers crossed it gets fixed!
