Guest Starburn Posted September 19, 2004 Report Posted September 19, 2004 Hey :) After reading comments about the C500; I decided to go with Orange's student offer, and get the phone. I've just ordered a 256mb mini-SD card.. so I'm looking at getting some games/applications etc. for it. Are there any good guides to installing/running games? I've read the one at http://www.spv3d.tk/ also in the Orange development site the C500 isn't listed for security disable... :/ Also: anyone know what the G means at the top of this phone? - I'm assuming it means GPRS is available? (just worried its costing me, even though I know its charged by data). Oh and - any idea how to find out how much data you've downloaded? I have read the manual.. it doesn't mention it. Worried I'm running up a bill  Tho checking 150 current balance it says £0 .. hmm  PAYG was easier :? Anyway; thanks for any advice
Guest Will Posted September 19, 2004 Report Posted September 19, 2004 check out this link OTA the g at the top means the phone is gprs enabled, and can connect to gprs if you want. when the g moves to over the signal strength bar, you are then connected to gprs. Most games are either installed via a pc installer, or else you copy the cab file onto the phone, a good location to choose is /storage/windows/start menu/accessories. then browse to this location on the phone, and click on the cab. Guest Disco Stu Posted September 19, 2004 Report Posted September 19, 2004 The only GPRS meter I know of for the C500 is the All-Locations product, available here : http://www.handango.com/PlatformProductDet...ch=all-location
Guest mavisdavis Posted September 19, 2004 Report Posted September 19, 2004 @Will - he has the C500 he can stick it on his MSD Card and install it from there. A good place to check is HERE and goto the begginners section. it has everything there in one place. Then come back here to keep upto date ith all the latest developments. And don't forget there is a C500 section in the devices topic in the forum index. Hope this helps  Enjoy the forum :) Oh! forgot to say Welcome to the site
Guest Will Posted September 19, 2004 Report Posted September 19, 2004 cleaning up, moved to help and advice. Will
Guest Starburn Posted September 20, 2004 Report Posted September 20, 2004 Thanks for all the help. :/ can't believe I'd have to buy a program to keep track of the data; my T610 had a built in program. Doesn't seem to cost browsing the orange game catalogue etc. tho? (unless current balance on 150 is incorrectly tell me I have no balance - then again.. I've not quite worked out if it's the money I owe after being billed, or the money I've spent up to now.. hm). I did ring up customer services to get my account number, so I would be able to view my bills online - but they couldn't hear me (that was fun); can't be my phone though I've spoken to other people :s Anyway.. I've heard you can get DivX onto a smart phone.. so I'm off to look into that also :)
