Guest drblow Posted September 20, 2004 Report Posted September 20, 2004 Does anyone know any? I've had a wee look around town, & none of the usual stockists for SD cards seem to have mini SD cards for sale. For those of us without plastic, can anyone give us a few names of high street retailers who would stock mini SD cards?
Guest chucky.egg Posted September 20, 2004 Report Posted September 20, 2004 Maplins (@ Lakeside, Essex) had some yesterday, but only 32Mb I think
Guest Exploited Posted September 20, 2004 Report Posted September 20, 2004 Same over here in The Netherlands. Even the International shops like Dixons and Vobis aren't carrying miniSD-cards yet. I expect things will change within the next couple of weeks though, as the market for this format has multiplied recently. We'll just have to be patient a little while longer. On the other hand... Since we live in the 21st century and memory-cards aren't exactly the type of products that you need a sales-person for to show you how it works, there is very little reason for buying these things in a shop and paying double the amount you'd pay when ordering from a web-shop. If you compare the prices of normal SD-cards to the prices offered on web-shops you will see for yourself they're really overpriced.
Guest Jasonkruys Posted September 20, 2004 Report Posted September 20, 2004 Jessop's have some 128mb ones in their online store, normally the same for the retail shops....
Guest drblow Posted September 20, 2004 Report Posted September 20, 2004 As I said above, I have no plastic cards to transact with! I would love to buy online, but it's not really feasible as far as I can see.

With Paypal you can also register using a normal bank-account. You don't particularly need a credit card. Furthermore, where I live (The Netherlands) most (nearly all actually) webshops allow you to pre-pay your order using a normal bank-transfer. I even ordered several times with webshops in Germany this way. I took a credit-card several months ago, mainly for ordering stuff from the US. In Europe I've always used my ordinary bank-account.

I was suggesting they (jessop's) normally have the same stock in their highstreet stores, as they do in their online ones.

Guest drblow Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 Paul - any news on this? Did you get my PM?
Guest ptootill Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 I was suggesting they (jessop's) normally have the same stock in their highstreet stores, as they do in their online ones. My local Jessops hadn't heard of them but when I said they were on the web siite, they siad they could order them. Would need 25% deposit and it could take 2-3 weeks. Rgrds Peter
Guest zeta101 Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 high streets shops dont tend to be with it most of the time, it will be a while before they get the cards (i mean seriously now...how mnay gadgets in the UK actually use the card format?! i havent heard of any other than the c500) so i dont think they will be getting any soon.
