Resizing images from online so it fits on the c500 screen?

what the best size to save images on your phone if you want them on your home screen, i've saved a few images from online and transfered them to my c500 but they are either to small or to big , whats the best way to resize them , width , height , pixels etc.. so that it fits perfectly on the c500 screen
