Guest rklosinski Posted September 24, 2004 Report Posted September 24, 2004 Has anyone looked at the xml file for the c500 standard home screen. There is a few things you can do, like modify the date format and change/add urls. Addiotnally, you can use the built in file manager to move start menu items around to suite your needs (move them to other directories at least. further mods required a registry editor). For example, I mae another directory call "phone" and put all the phone realed stuff there. Watch out though... the home screen relys on those links in the start menu to function correct. (like contacts, calander, and call history) Im working on a hack for the homescreen.dll file to allow me to move those links somewhere else. Im won of those guys who only needs one way to get to contacts and appointments and wants those links removed from the start menu. (call me anal). Rich
Guest crafty Posted September 24, 2004 Report Posted September 24, 2004 Check out this thread about modifying the C500 homescreen. You don't need to hack any librarys to get the hard coded links working - the easiest way is to use hidden links. I also like a tidy start menu so got rid of stuff like contacts as i would alwys access this from the homescreen, by making a hidden link in the start menu it doesn't clutter things up and the homescreen links still work :) Out of interest what were you planning to do with homescreen.dll?
