Guest shadamehr Posted September 24, 2004 Report Posted September 24, 2004 Guys... Any help here would be appreciated... I took the plunge and re-joined the smartphone fold, by ordering a C500 recently. Previously, I had been a Nokia user since the year dot as my sig. strip shows, but left Nokia to try out the E200 SPV which was not bad. With the advent of the 6230, I went back to Nokia. Now, my big problem is this... The Nokia 6230 lets you send text notes quickly, easily, and conveniently, via Bluetooth. I'm sorry if some of you disagree, but this is not just useful, it has now become an absolute essentiality for me, in order to text note to my g/f downstairs, in a bar, on the loo, etc etc. Trust me, your own view is exactly that, but for me, this is an absolute essential feature now. Alas, as best I can tell, there is no such tool or feature on a C500 - certainly my E200 cannot do this. So, when my shiny new C500 arrives, it means I'm gonna have to constantly carry TWO phones everywhere with me. Now this seems a bit absurd given that it's a SMARTphone (here I go whingeing already you say *lol). But add to this, I can send files as easy as anything on the 6230 too, which is also vital. Two reviews I read of the C500 said the new BT stack and the inbuilt file manager make this possible now. Another said you STILL have to use Binary's Third Party Software... DOH. Contrast this with the Nokia, where it is native, and far more relevantly, you don't need to use a file manager to send - at any point when you are viewing a file, there will be an option to send via bt in the menu options. So, can anyone tell me, is BT file send now supprted natively on the C500. But MUCH MORE IMPORTANTLY, is there any way to send and receive simple text notes on the C500? if not, can someone write a simple tool to allow this? Is this possible? Thanks guys....
