What eBook-reader are you all using? I'm an avid reader and have been using PDA's and smartphones for reading books for years, but haven't been able to find a decent one for my SPV C500 yet.

I think the best two are supposed to be Tiny eReader and Mobipocket depending on what format ebook you use.

Mobipocket rules, not only for ebooks, but for enews (which is downloaded on PC & transfered to phone), and copying documents into a reader format. It's one of my most used apps!

Hi!

Hmmm. The big question is: Why doesn't Microsoft release a MS-Reader application for WM2002/2003/SE? I've got several eBooks (with DRM) which I can't read at the moment.

BTW: TinyReader doesn't work on my C500.

Is there any option to change my MS-Reader eBooks to Mobipocket-Format?

Thanks in advance!

Greetings

You can convert documents in the mobipocket desktop companion, not sure about that format tho.

TinyeBook reader works fine on my C500, I am reading a .lit file with it at the moment (well not whilst I'm writing this) it would not open one of my lit files which is just short of a MB in size but for the life of me I can't remember if that one has DRM, the smaller one which I have obtained recently opens fine.

There is a utilitity out on the net for converting .LIT files to a standard eBook format, which can then be converted to MobiReader format by Mobi Desktop Companion easily. The utility is called 'clit' (I kid you not). Try a search on the net, but I'd suggest careful use of searching words or you might find all sorts of other sites popping up!!! ;-)

I've used it to convert .lit files to .prc format. Its a command line program and not hugely userfriendly but it does the business and lets me read my library of 200+ .lit ebooks on MobiReader (which is the best program in my opinion)

I'm currently also using both MobiPocket and Tiny eBook Reader. Both have their pros and cons.

The most important 'cons' of MobiPocket are that you have to convert files to that specific format AND that the files can't just be placed anywhere on the SmartPhone.

The most important 'cons' of Tiny eBook Reader are that it doesn't do a lot of formats unless you pay a lot of money. There are quite a bit of bugs in the software that made me hesitant to pay 'professional' money for a program that, on the whole, feels quite 'amateurish'. I did buy the software today, but still...

I've used WordSmith for many years on PalmOS and, so far, neither of the two readers matches that quality - making me feel the choice on the SmartPhone-platform is very limited.

Does anyone know if there are professional developers busy developing Word-like software for SmartPhone that can also be used to read eBooks?

What we really need (and what I'm surprised hasn't happened) is for MS to port MSReader to smartphone platform...
