Guest funky_monkey Posted September 25, 2004 Report Posted September 25, 2004 I just got an MPX200, its been upgraded to WM 2003. My question is regarding the RAM and ROM of the device. The Website says that it should be: Memory: 32MB Flash ROM, 32 MB SD RAM + SD/MMC card slot However, I only get 16MB of prgram memory and 8MB of storage(see attached screenshot). Is this normal? Or did I do something wrong while installing WM2003?screen.JPG
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted September 26, 2004 Report Posted September 26, 2004 Welcome to the site :) It's normal what you are not seeing is the ammount of memory the actual OS is using.
Guest pauliewog Posted September 26, 2004 Report Posted September 26, 2004 Why do I not see this program he is using for system info? Is that a new program exclusive to 2003?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted September 26, 2004 Report Posted September 26, 2004 It's an app you use on the PC not the phone. Also the best way to view system usage is Task Manager from www.binarys.com
Guest funky_monkey Posted September 28, 2004 Report Posted September 28, 2004 thanks for the warm welcome! i checked task manager and it says: MEMORY INFORMATION: total memory: 28.21MB storage memory: 10.55MB program memory: 17.66MB FLASH INFORMATION: Storage(Flash): 8.18MB Storage Card: 120.03 Is this normal?
Guest otacon Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 Under the Storage Memory, resource manager tells me that I have 10.05mb there. However, when I try to install something, the phone cannot install with the error that there is not enough space. Can anyone enlighten me on this matter?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 Try rebooting the phone before installing the app you want. I would suggest you do as above and install Smart Explorer and Task Manager as there are much easier to use. Also whenever installing apps and games etc always use the storage card and keep the phone's memory clear for things like homescreens, custom ringtones and you sms etc.
