Guest Jakob Posted September 25, 2004 Report Posted September 25, 2004 For some reason the OTA method doesn´t work in DK .. Does anyone have a solution ? /Jakob
Guest squall Posted September 26, 2004 Report Posted September 26, 2004 have you tried putting the phone in the cradle and connecting to the internet via pass through? After entering the information at the OTA site you need to connect the phone to the internet for it to be unlocked
Guest Jakob Posted September 26, 2004 Report Posted September 26, 2004 Yup. I´m syncing my mail over the air normally - and on pass-thorugh when I´m home. Problem is; OTA method doen´t recognize my IMEI number - and you cant run the Action Register withour unlocking the phone first.. /J
Guest fozzie Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 Strange. I've never had any problems running the Action Register app before OTA unlocking. Kinda defeats the whole object doesn't it, if you have to unlock first? Something's wrong there! What version of Action Register you using?
Guest Jakob Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 I´ve tried them both .. But; my friend wrote [email protected] and they mailed him an application to unlock the phone - unfortunately locked to his IMEI. ... I wrote them about an hour ago... still waiting for the answer.. But thansk :) /J
Guest fozzie Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 If you want to PM me your email address I can email you the 2 versions I've got. One of them you can 'Get Commands' to pull the unlock command from the network. Maybe you have this version already?
Guest Jakob Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 I´m not allowed to run the application. Error: Unable to open the file. The system returned the error "Access denied"! Jakob
Guest sblarsen Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 Im not having any problems running action register on my C500 (Also DK) but it doesnt register.. it just sits there and looks like its connecting but nothing really happens except it says "registering device to network" but it really does not do that.... :)(...
Guest fozzie Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 What are you expecting the Action Register app to do? Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest sblarsen Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 Well, i was expecting it to connect and register my IMEI, which it does not do.
Guest Jakob Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 Got one of the applications from you Fonzie working, and actually I was able to register my device!!. But my SPV is still unknown to the OTA method. /J
Guest fozzie Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 Usual checks - have you used PIE to connect to the internet previously and how are you entering your phone number (both in Action Register and on the OTA site)?
Guest sblarsen Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 Yup, I used PIE a couple of times before running action register and trying to de-cert. I entered my .DK phone number with a +45 countrycode prefix in both the OTA site and in Action register. My action register looks like this: Phone number: my phone number IMEI number: my IMEI Registered: YES Lock: Running I find it rather strange that it says "YES" next to "registered" as the OTA site, doesnt have my IMEI regged??....
Guest blade6750 Posted September 28, 2004 Report Posted September 28, 2004 Trying to Register my C500 and the Registry app does not work for me. the phone number everything looks fine. i press register then see some txt saying registering on the network and then it stops. no confirmation nuthing. Plus is still says Registered: NO any ideas?
Guest fozzie Posted September 28, 2004 Report Posted September 28, 2004 That's exactly the same as what mine does/always has done, but it's not been a problem . What version of the app do you have/what does say when you select options? Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest tjementum Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 This is exactly the same problems I'm facing on two C500's. I’ve downloaded the "Action Register Application" although it says "Orange Register" when running it (I only know of one version... where can the other be downloaded?). When I press Register it displays “Registering device to the network" for a few seconds, and it also creates a GPRS connection automatically. It also shifts Registered from NO to YES. The Lock however is saying "Running". I don't get a confirmation page as it says I should in the guide on http://developer.orangews.com/orgspv/downloaddefq.aspx. But when I try to register I still get the error "Sorry but we are unable to find the IMEI number that you have entered on our database.". I even contacted [email protected] two days ago, but I still haven’t heard from them. When entering my phone number I both tried with and without a space (like +45[space]xxxxxxx vs. +45xxxxxxxx) when trying to update, download and registering the application. I even tried a combination where I left the [space] on the update page because the example here is without a [space] opposed to the download page. I tried downloading and installing via pc, and also by downloading directly via the phone (using the link send to me in a SMS). After trying all this I tried the same on my girlfriends (clean) phone (using [space] and by downloading and installing directly on the phone). Both phone used Internet Explorer before and after using the register phone. I’ve even disconnected the GPRS and created a new connection again. This is driving me nuts. I’m a developer… and this is very bad interface Orange have here. How hard can it be at least to give some kind of feedback what ever error occurs). PS: The reason that I write about the [space] so much, is because I read in another thread that it is very important. How hard can it be for Orange to just ignore spaces!!! Thomas
Guest spvdk Posted October 5, 2004 Report Posted October 5, 2004 I am Danish and I am experiencing the same problem. The downloaded .cab claims to register my C500, but the IMEI is still unrecognised. I have written '[email protected]' twice but still no reply... For some reason I can install and run almost any program, but not the Sprite Backup. It installs nicely, but then complains that it cannot run on locked phones like mine and I am instructed to download a certified version from their site, but there is none. I think the SPV is a bit too unstable to run without a backup (100% crash at least once each day), so this is a big issue to me...
Guest fozzie Posted October 5, 2004 Report Posted October 5, 2004 Working fine on mine; yesterday and today.
Guest Jakob Posted October 5, 2004 Report Posted October 5, 2004 i got a mail from orange today. unfortunately i had my handset replaced so i was for the old IMEI:) bad luck and try again:) Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest spvdk Posted October 5, 2004 Report Posted October 5, 2004 Jakob, Does this mean that they simply sent you the decert application? I was under the impression that they would call you first?

Guest peekie Posted October 6, 2004 Report Posted October 6, 2004 I had the same problem not being a recognized imei number , i used the one on the box which is 2 digits short ( on some boxes the imei is too short , sure someone will have the answer to why that is  ) my first C500 was no problems number on the box worked , my new phone not , so in the end i tryed the *#06# method and noticed the extra 2 digits , typed that in and it worked

Guest spvdk Posted October 6, 2004 Report Posted October 6, 2004 There is no doubt in my mind that this problem is country specific. Looks to be Danish phones only... I got my unlocker via mail from Orange today, but the result was very weird indeed! I wrote them to hear if they know what is going on. The text below is mostly from this mail to Orange. I received the unlocker and ran it. After that, applications without a certificate, like Smart Explorer, can run on Low security setting. If I set the security level to High, I get the message 'Access denied. The program cannot start because it is not digitally signed with a trusted certificate'. This means that the decert app is working on my C500. Now to the strange part... For some reason my C500 seemed to have MORE 'privileges' before running the app and setting the security level to low. How can that be? Several programs that I was able to install before, now gives me the 'Installation failed. The program or setting cannot be installed because it does not have adequate system permissions' message. This includes spritebackupforsmartphoneunlocked.exe and the ScreenShotPS Trial. The latter actually ran perfectly BEFORE I used the Security Level Setting application, but now I can't even install it. Sprite backup installed fine before, but wouldn't run. The application Orange Register, which I downloaded when trying to decert OTA, tells me the lock is running, no matter what the setting of the security level… After I did a hard reset, and thereby deleted everything installed on the C500, I am back with the higher privileges/lower security. Does this mean that my C500 is born with an even lower security setting than 'Low'? This seems very strange to me. I wonder if this is my phone only, a single batch or maybe all C500 for Denmark?
