Sim unlock a SPV

I'm not an idiot, I did read the article on SIM unlocking but the link was dead. After reading through most of the thread I still had no idea exactly how to unlock my SPV.

I've been forced to backtrack to an original SPV after losing my other phone and waiting for the MPX220 to appear (which apparently now will never happen) but I don't have an orange SIM.

Could someone point me in the right direction to unlocking my phone?
