Guest Myrandex Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 I have an MPx200 and I have tried putting midi files on there and they never play. I have tried different sizes of files, w/ .mid and .midi extensions, and confirms all of them play on my computer. I talked to Motorola and they don't know why. Any of y'all got any clues? Jason P.S. need to figure out a way to Overclock the phone so when used an am MP3 player w/ high bit-rate MP3's, it doesn't skip =)
Guest Fusius Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 Make sure the format of the MIDI file is format 0 and not format 1. Format 1 MIDI files will not play on the MPx200 but they WILL play on computers.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 Also it is not possible to overclock the phone.
Guest alcalina Posted November 5, 2004 Report Posted November 5, 2004 why no overclock? is it amr? the hp48 if i don't make a mistake again is amr and can be overclock it's because anybody make a software to do this or no way and no hope
Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted November 5, 2004 Report Posted November 5, 2004 I agree with Fusius  You sometimes need MIDI file format zero to load a ring tone tune onto your cell phone. You can use MIDI1TO0 v1.0 (by Guenter Nagler) for that. Its a freeware, you can get it using this link: http://www.musicmasterworks.com/cellphone/midi1to0.zip Here are the steps to use this utility (this is a DOS utility, so there is no easy GUI): 1. Un-zip the downloaded file. 2. Select 'Run...' from the Windows Start menu. 3. Select the 'Browse' button. 4. Find the directory where you unzipped the file and select 'MIDI1TO0.EXE'. 5. In the 'Open:' edit box, edit the text: after the '.exe' put a space, then the name of the file to convert, then another space, then the name of the output file. If the midi file to convert is in another directory than the EXE file, then you need to include the full path name before the file name. Hit OK, and it will convert it. MIDI Volume software MIDIFixer is a program that lets you edit volume levels in MIDI files. Increase volume. Normalize volume. Turn off stuck notes. Change speed or tempo. http://www.matthewssoftware.com/MIDIFixer/
Guest phonesmarts Posted November 5, 2004 Report Posted November 5, 2004 Heh, OC'ing the MPX200...I would want that. I'll get myself a good 250 Mhz proc. Speaking of OC'ing, have anyone here ever OC'ed their PDAs? I heard the XScales could be OC'ed.
