Dude, with a post count like that, surely you could have used the search feature to find answers to these questions, even if you have been away for a while!? No harm to ye, but the simunlock thing is a sticky in the c500 forum! :?

Anyway, the answers are -

1) yes

2) yes

3) dunno

I havn't even got mine yet (hopefully tomorrow) but quite apart from all the goodies inside the phone it is damned nice looking.

It was very nearly love at first sight...and i'd come along this route...Nokia 9210 Communicator, SPV, Nokia 6600, P900, XDAII...most of which, when pocketed, provoked admiring glances from the girls UNTIL you take it out.

It is nice & small! After 2 years of carrying SPV's around, it's worth it just to get the smaller phone! & the battery life is quite dramatically improved. I've had a few problems with the phone locking up, but thats mostly to do with homescreens (which I do alot of), and most other people seem to have no problems with it whatsoever.

I've said before, in my opinion, if you are not a particularly heavy phone user then I'm sure the c500 is near perfect, except for gaming. There's quite a few great games that will not work at all with the gapi issue(eg. eclipse), and there are some that work but the keypress issue prevents them from being playable (eg. rocket elite).

If you are a heavy phone user (I use mine for about 10 hours a day) then it may not be perfect, but it's still better than the e200 for battery life & size in your pocket.

Okay, thought I would post my own mini review of it to help you out:

The SPV C500 is a very impressive little gadget, and on using it, it quickly becomes apparent why so many magazines have rated it so highly.

The new Windows Mobile software is a breeze to use compared to earlier models with almost no 'wait' symbol time between operations. If I have a gripe with it, its just that its memory management isnt very good (If I have three or four applications open and go to the camera, upon taking a photo I am informed that I cannot save it as memory is low. Going to task manager and closing them down fixes this though). The new 203Mhz processor obviously helps a great deal when it comes to speeding things up, and is a welcome contribution.

The most impressive thing about this phone though is its battery life and size. Compared to previous SPV models, which I bought anyway on the basis of their specifications, this thing is TINY, and more than compares to other mobiles on the market today. The battery life is outstanding as well. I charged this thing three days ago and have been using Media player, Bluetooth and the camera quite a lot and its still alive!! Battery life this good on an SPV? Must be witchcraft!!!

In conclusion, I have been using this phone for a month now and cant recommend it enough. My only gripes so far being the memory management issue and the fact that the screen is very easy to scratch, more so than any other phone I have owned (I dont mistreat my phones at all, but I dont use cases either as I dont like the way they make it look - I have paid the price - a massive graze on the bottom quarter of the screen). If you can get passed those two issues then its a fantastic phone. Buy it now. Go on, you know you want to.
