Guest shadamehr Posted September 28, 2004 Report Posted September 28, 2004 As the subject implies! I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO used to using my Nokia 6230 for Bluetooth sending and receiving notes - it's an absolute essentiality to me now. Through experimentation, I have found a LIMITED way to receive these on my C500 (it needs to be paired in advance for this to work), whereby it will accept the notes from the Nokia, as they are just simple plain .txt files, and then I can use File Manager to browse to the file (no opening direct here on the C500, like on the Nokia of course), and then clicking on the file in File Manager, beieve it or not, opens it up in Pocket Internet Explorer - but at least I can read it though! So what I need to know - is CAN I CREATE A SIMPLE TEXT FILE (.txt) on my C500 somehow folks, so I can send one back long-windedly? Thanks for any help...
Guest Taoski Posted September 28, 2004 Report Posted September 28, 2004 See here on that other super Smartphone site on how to get Orneta Notepad for free. http://www.msmobiles.com/news.php/2586.html
Guest shadamehr Posted September 28, 2004 Report Posted September 28, 2004 Cheers for that... It works, in a kind of long winded way, but that's the C500 for you *lol* Five minutes to send a text note via BT. As opposed to 15 Seconds on my Nokia *lol* But nevertheless, thanks for the link mate!
Guest chucky.egg Posted September 28, 2004 Report Posted September 28, 2004 You can associate OrnetaNotepad with .TXT files (I don't know if you've already done that) and that way when you open any text file it will open in Notepad. If you use SmartExplorer you can save "favourite" locations and quickly jump to your My Docs folder. Thats the quickest way that I know of to get around the filing system. Symbian keeps "beamed" files like this in a special Inbox which makes it easy to quickly find and open them. I don't think there is a tool to do that in MS Smartphone but it would be useful.
