Removing files from the APPMGR folder

Hi,

I am trying to completely uninstall Binery SP Task manager. But I cannot delete the application's folder from STORAGEWINDOWSAPPMGR

I get a message saying access is denied or file maybe read only.

Any ideas?

Welcome to the site mate :)

Firstly don't delete it unless you've uninstalled Task Manager first by either Add / Remove Programs tool. You should now be able to delete the .tmp file / folder but will find it easier to do this while browsinig in ActiveSync.

Another way is to rename the extension to .old or .jpg, reboot the phone and then delete.

Thanks for your reply. What I forgot to mention is that my phone crashed while I was removing the program!

Now it just says access denied when I try to remove it!

any other ideas?

Ouch, that's not good news.

First thing to try is to reinstall Task Manager and then try to uninstall it again.

If that fails you could try reposting the question in the Binarys section and getting their expert advice, but you may be looking at a hard reset anyway. I'd be tempted after a crash like yours.

yeah already tried that! it won't install either!

I've done a hard reset before with no problems but I'd rather not do it as I don't have any insurance on my phone!
