Unlocking a C500

Can someone please summarize the reasons I would want to unlock it? I understand I would do this to use different networks but I’m not that bothered. Would I have to unlock to use certain apps, games etc?

There's two types of unlocking - network and application.

If you're happy with the network you're on you'll have no need to pay to get the phone unlocked so you can use it on other networks.

If you want to start messing about with the phone it's probably a good idea to get it application unlocked (which doesn't cost anything) as most apps available on the net won't work otherwise.

i take it i can do a search for app unlocking and get what i'mm looking for so i'll get right on it.

Your C500 comes partially unlocked anyway, but some software & skins won't install without full application unlocking.
