Guest soundoff Posted September 28, 2004 Report Posted September 28, 2004 With my MpX 200 crashing about every 10-14 days, I was wondering if there is a way to install Smart Explorer on the phone so that when I do a hard re-set I will be able to go to SE, view my storage card and begin installing all of the programs from my card rather than having to synch with my pc and re-install SE. It always seems to crash when I am not near my pc. Is this possible or a dunder question?? thanks!
Guest martin Posted September 28, 2004 Report Posted September 28, 2004 There are 2 ways to get Smart Explorer on your phone after a hard reset. 1. Download cab file directly to the phone from www.binarys.com using the GPRS network. 2. Create an autorun file on the SD card 8) See http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=114257 Hope this helps :)
Guest soundoff Posted September 28, 2004 Report Posted September 28, 2004 martin~I followed the link you posted and installed the folder on my card but from this point I am confused. How does the autorun actually work? thanks
Guest ferret Posted September 28, 2004 Report Posted September 28, 2004 The autorun works by executing the file (the smartexplorer cab in your case) everytime you insert the SD card into the phone. Therefore get a rubbish size SD card (the one that comes with the phone is handy for this), set it up to install Smart Explorer. Then: Phone crash Hard reset Take SD card out of wallet Place into slot Smartexplorer.cab will install
