Guest paulmottley Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 Just had to have my E200 replaced due a non working nav key, now a few days later I find that the new handset has a similar problem in that it keeps 'selecting' every time I try to use nav-down . Phone O and they have just pushed me off to go to a shop. I think they might think I'm making it up! How many times do I put up with dodgy handsets before I demand a free upgrade to change the handset? Paul
Guest chucky.egg Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 From memory some people had 6+ replacements for the E200
Guest paulmottley Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 Can't start pleading for a C500 just yet then !
Guest ferret Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 I think it's 3 replacements and then you're entitled to a new phone, well that's what I was told when I popped into my local orange shop for my 7th handset. Trust me they are making it up. This is what happend to me! Duff phone Ring 150 New phone sent out New phone duff Ring 150 O - How old is the phone? Me - errrm 40 mins O - Go to your local shop, they will take the phone apart and clean the contacts between the joystick and circuit board for you because it's been sitting in storage for a while, being new and all. It won't take long - you can wait in store. Me - Oh, right .... As I had the day off and nothing better to do I decided to take them up on the offer. Orange shop said wtf - we sell phones not fix them.
Guest paulmottley Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 the plot thickens then ! I'm just off down to the O shop now ! will post update Paul
Guest paulmottley Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 No help there then! Simlpy told me 'it's really sensitive' , I KNOW !!!!
Guest ferret Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 Just keep ringing 150, be firm but polite. Eventually you'll get someone who knows what they're on about.
Guest paulmottley Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 well, I know I haven't got fat fingers but it seems to work if I use a credit card it nudge it down. Should I really have to put up with this though?
Guest chucky.egg Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 No, you shouldn't, but you have to convince O of that!
Guest Disco Stu Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 Having got fed up with the E200 joystick, I've decided to bite the upgrade fee and get a C500. Sadly, I do have fat stubby fingers :)
