Guest MrCeri Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 Hi All, I've recently installed the demo of Links Golf and it's great, and I'm very keen to buy the full version - however, I don't want to pay for it, only to find that if I lose my phone, or get an upgrade in a few months, I have to buy the game again. Can anyone tell me how the registration process works when you buy the full version? Do you just download a full version exe, or do they email you a code to unlock the demo? Can you transfer your code to another phone? Thanks in advance for your help, Ceri
Guest Disco Stu Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 I'm not sure which registration method Hexacto use, but I bought Links and used it on my original SPV (SP2002 OS) and then reinstalled it on my E200 (WM2003 OS) and used the same code (if it needs a code...) :)
Guest ferret Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 I've never had any problems of software not accepting registration codes on an upgraded phone.
Guest MrCeri Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 Cool, thanks for the feedback guys :)
Guest unclelimey Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 links golf has no reg codes
Guest MrCeri Posted September 30, 2004 Report Posted September 30, 2004 links golf has no reg codes In that case what differentiates the demo version from the full version? Do you download a totally different exe when you buy the full version? Cheers, Ceri
Guest MrCeri Posted September 30, 2004 Report Posted September 30, 2004 One more question - I've found this game for sale here: http://www.handango.com/orange-cobrand/Pla...110&title=Games where it's priced at £13.39. Does this sound reasonable? Are there cheaper places to buy games (sorry, this'll be the first time I've bought a smartphone game, so I'm not really sure the best sites to buy from). Cheers, Ceri
Guest ferret Posted September 30, 2004 Report Posted September 30, 2004 Might be worth checking out www.handango.com (without all the orange stuff) and see if the dollar price is any good. Signup for MoDaCo plus and you also get a 10% discount code. Smartphone.net is another but they usually have the same price as handang.
Guest MrCeri Posted September 30, 2004 Report Posted September 30, 2004 Smartphone.net is another but they usually have the same price as handang. It's $9.95 on Smartphone.net, excellent! Has anyone (in the UK) bought from them before? Are they ok, no problem with purchasing from the UK? Cheers, Ceri
Guest Disco Stu Posted September 30, 2004 Report Posted September 30, 2004 Yeah, I prefer them to Handango in some ways. Certainly their customer service is miles better.
Guest MrCeri Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 Yeah, I prefer them to Handango in some ways. Certainly their customer service is miles better. Thanks for the recommendation! I took the plunge, bought it from Smartphone.net - half the price of Handango, at $9.95. I'd be more than happy to recommend them to anyone else. Thanks for all your help folks, Ceri
