Guest sjalloq Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 Hi there, I've got a C500 running Smartphone 2003 and I'm not sure if this is a bug or I'm missing a setting somewhere. If I enter the beginning letters of someone's name in my contact list, all the matches are displayed on the screen allowing you to scroll up and down. Once you have highlighted the contact you want, you can then scroll left of right through the list of numbers/email/sms entries that you hold for that contact. On my MPx200, to send an SMS to someone, I just hit right until it showed sms, then I hit the action key. This took me straight to the text editor and I could write the text. On my C500 I need to hit the action key twice as the first hit only opens the contact list. What's with that? I'm also getting fed up with not being able to snooze reminders for anything other than 5 mins. In Outlook, you get a reminder and you can select when you should next be reminded. So for a meeting you can set the reminder 15 mins before the start time and when it pops up, hit snooze so that it doesn't pop up again until 5 mins before the meeting. On my C500 I have to hit snooze every 5 mins until the meeting. This is even worse if you set a reminder for a couple of days before the event. Now you have to dismiss the reminder altogether which is broken in my mind. Anyone else find this stupid? SJ.

What's with that?Strange as all versions of Smartphones I have from teh SPV up needed the action button to be hit twice. Could it be you had multipress set differently so it only appeared to be pressed once? I'm also getting fed up with not being able to snooze reminders for anything other than 5 mins. Altering the snooze time is one feature that has been on everyones wish list to change since the SPV was first released :)
Guest sjalloq Posted September 30, 2004 Report Posted September 30, 2004 Hi, no, I didn't have multipress set differently as I wouldn't know how to do it. :? Everything else behaved as normal. It would be how I'd implement it. If you want to use a specific detail then hit the action button, if you want to open the contact, then you have to go menu -> open. Another thing, I've just noticed that when reading an SMS, it doesn't display the time sent. On my MPx200, if you scrolled down to the end of the SMS message and then hit down once more, a screen apeared showing you the sender details and the date and time sent etc. (I think there might even have been 3 separate screens but can't remember for sure now.) Why has this been left off the 2003 release or is it a bug with the C500? Thanks. SJ.

Guest Brody Posted October 3, 2004 Report Posted October 3, 2004 Correct me if i'm wrong but I thought that the original SPV only required a single click to call a contact or skip to the compose message screen when you click right or left and scroll through m, sms, w etc. ?? I seem to remember having to make a selection in the menu to view the contact's details rather than clicking it once.

Thanks awarner, would have never guessed that!
