New phone, problems with Jabra BT200

Hi,

Bought my SPV C500 yesterday. My old phone was a T610 and used the same jabra headset. Voicedial and voice answer all worked flawlessly.

I cannot get it to work at all with the new phone. I have paired the phone fine and it asked me if I wanted to enable the device as hands free, I said yes.

What happens is when I switch the headset on, a little headset icon appears on the phone and all the phones sounds are passed to the headset. But this never switches off unless you make and then end a call. This will flatten the headset in a matter of hours.

When the little headset icon disappears it's fine. If the phone rings it takes a second or 2 for it to pass to the headset but I can answer and end the call.

What I can't do is voice dial. When I press the call button on the headset, the headset icon appears on the phone and we're back to where we were before. It just sits there indefinately.

The old phone used to activate the headset when the headset was switched on, wait for a voicetag and then switch the headset off after 5 seconds. Same thing happened when you pressed the button on the headset.

I've tried deleting the bluetooth pairing and re-creating it but NOT choosing it as a handsfree device. This fails to work at all. When you press the button on the headset, nothing happens on the phone.

I've used this headset without issue on a Nokia 6310e, T68i, and a T610

Is there something I'm doing wrong, or that I can try to get it to work.?

thanks

Steve

I have been having similar problems, in my case I worked out that if I turn off the keylock the voice dial option functions correctly. However it still requires I press the dial button on the headset twice.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for the response, no I don't have the keylock switched on. Pressing the call button twice doesn't do anything either.

Just out of interest, are there different versions of the BT200, if so, how are they identified? Mine has 42A stamped on the neck near the mic.

Is a BT250 the same but with better battery life?

cheers

Steve

I got home and tried my wifes BT200 paired with my phone last night and this one works as others have suggested. Press button twice for voice dial and it disconnects from the phone properly.

This one has the code 22B on the mic neck. Both of these work perfectly on a T681 and a T610.

So I've swapped. :-)

having similar problems

sounds/calls passed through to the jabra bt200 headset but voicedial doesn't work.

Headset icon shows up on handset.

Also tried saying something before/after pressing button as mentioned in another post with no success.

Mine has 06B stamped near the mic.

Has anyone got this version to work?

Has anyone got any bright ideas?

Really don't want to have to buy another headset if I can avoid it

Can anyone confirm that you can use use voicedial ok with your Jabra BT250.

As noted above I have a Fortuna BT clip-on GPS / C500 / Jabra BT200 and am having problems getting the voicedial to work...

Getting fed up :x struggling with the bt200 in the car but would like to confirm that the Jabra BT250 does work before I splash the cash.

Cheers

I have the BT250v which is the same as the BT250, but has the added feature of vibrate. It too has the voice dial problem, and only seems to work when it wants to. Orange have no idea what is the fault, but have tried the handset with the BT250v HS810, HS820 both from motorola and all have the same problem, so it is a handset fault, not headset fault.

In that case can anyone recommend a BT headset for the c500 on which voicedial does work reliably or failing that any headset that works with the c500

Voice dials work fine on my C500 with my Plantronics M3000 except when the keypad lock is enabled (which is a known issue with the phone).
