Guest philg2000 Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 I'm running CoPilot on a C500. Apart from changing the powersave settings, is there any way to stop the screen dimming whilst running this application?
Guest crafty Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 Check out muff's backlight toggler - a simple app for toggling your backlight between not timing out and timing out after 10 secs. Assign a speed dial to it and it's a nice quick way to control your backlight.
Guest philg2000 Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 That'll do it - thanks v much!!! (Ideally, this should be within CoPilot options tho.)
Guest philg2000 Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 This has no effect at all on my C500. Anyone anyother ideas?
Guest fozzie Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 I'm just about to send this to ALK as a bug. Also the app doesn't diable the homescreen timeout  Aprt from that though, well chuffed :)
Guest RikF Posted October 5, 2004 Report Posted October 5, 2004 I notice that this software comes on a mini-SD card. Is there any issue with copying the software to another (larger) sd card so I don't have to swap in/out to use it? Ta RikF
Guest fozzie Posted October 5, 2004 Report Posted October 5, 2004 No issue. I didn't bother though; I just did a CD install to my exisiting SD card. Doing it this way also means you can install the latest Speed Camera POIs. (It's a slight pain because all POIs are integrated with the mapping and so if you want to install new POIs, you have to regenerate the mapping. Takes me about 10 minutes overall). Going back On Topic - I spoke with ALK today and they thought that the backlight going off was a safety measure, so you don't spen all your time staring at the lovely 3D graphics instead of the road. I've asked them if they would at least forward it as a suggestion as a configurable option. At least currently, the backlight does come back on when a turning is announced :)
Guest Drewtech Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 I have just got copilot for the C500 and can't get it to connect to the GPS. The bluetooth bonds to the GPS unit fine but when I try and use co-pilot it says no GPS. WHen I run the autoscan for the COM ports it fails every time. Any ideas.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 I've not had too much experience with Co-Pilot but I had similar problems until I followed the instructions that came with copilot to the letter
