Guest sixonenine619 Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 I wanna play DOS based games on my smart phone, is this possible? The games are all about 1.44mbs if thats matters at all
Guest ferret Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 Sounds like you need to get a developer to do a DOS emulator.
Guest Coolbox Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 Maybe what you seek is SCUMM which is an emulator that makes it possible to play fx. "Monkey island" and "Day of the tentacle". You can play the ported versions of "Doom", "Duke nukem" and "Quake". If it is some specific dos games they probably has to be ported first. I don't know much about this but thats the way I have understood it.
Guest meatgrinder Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 its SCUMM actually :) and hte smartphone version is called pocketSCUMM --> small review (by me) of it here  --> http://www.smartphonestuff.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=41 Dave
Guest Coolbox Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 Sorry....was a bit to fast with the keyboard hehe
Guest phAn Posted October 3, 2004 Report Posted October 3, 2004 Hm maybe it'll come out once, there's one for pocket pc's. The best I tested emulated an XT computer, which isn't really that fast... must be a lot of emulating :) I never got pocketscumm to run on my c500, dunno, doesn't want to load.
Guest Coolbox Posted October 3, 2004 Report Posted October 3, 2004 I have had a Compaq Ipaq long time ago and I found a dos emulator for that one as far as I remember. I don't know if it could run programs and so but you could write the basic commands and move around in the directories. Maybe that one could be portet for smartphones. The version I got was only a demo but it was possible to buy a full version I think.
Guest roozbeh Posted October 6, 2004 Report Posted October 6, 2004 the screen looks pretty bad i think but as it is availble on pocket pc i am pretty sure it can be ported...... but think of that very small resolotion and you cant even read the texts you have writtten.... maybe on higher resolotions smartphones(when availble!) it works better....
