Guest SkUk21 Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 lol - i thought the same. but in all honesty i think it gives the c500 a good run for its money. it does pretty much all that the c500 does. not as customisable, but otherwise very similar (and better looking and has a better keypad) :) (but you didnt hear me saying that  )
Guest pwest13 Posted October 3, 2004 Report Posted October 3, 2004 Run while your still breathing! lol, nah i must admit to havin a soft spot for some nokia phones, especially when my 8390 goes wrong >:| Im not sure to be honest of what will or wont run on the 6230 may be a case of trial and error, try an Search on google or Modaco. Does it really do everything a C500 can?!
Guest SkUk21 Posted October 3, 2004 Report Posted October 3, 2004 it does everything plus more (radio!) doesnt have msn. apart from that i cant think of any other feature it doesnt have....
Guest shadamehr Posted October 3, 2004 Report Posted October 3, 2004 Bit of boring history for you (see my signature strip for more detailed info)... I moved away from Nokia to an Orange SPV E200 when they came out last November, as I was SICK to death of Nokia ripping the consumer off by making sure no one single handset in their range had ALL the latest technologies on - you had to mix and match, and get the nearest to what you REALLY wanted. I used the E200 until March or thereabouts, but the abysmal battery life and poor call quality let it down badly. If a phone can't be a phone, it doesn't matter HOW MANY extra things it does. Enter Stage left, the Nokia 6230... And I have to say, it was a bloody good phone (or at least was once I got the latest firmware installed to sort out Bluetooth properly.) The screen was very poor, washed out colours though - no richness, vividness at all - especially the menu system itself. But by Christ... It had one feature, not present in ANY other phone (in as easy a form to use that is), that i SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO miss now that I have gone on to a C500... Bluetooth Note sending... Guys, until you try it, have a partner and an au pair living in the same household with you, and live as a recluse upstairs on the laptop, and just send notes all day to communicate, you don;t know what life is. There's never been a shouting match in our household for ages.... Because we communicate by Bluetooth notes quickly and easily! Seriously though, all joking aside, I miss this so much - it really is a killer feature of the 6230. So, my new C500 is the hands down winner overall, but that was one killer feature of the 6230...
Guest bc0001 Posted July 30, 2005 Report Posted July 30, 2005 Hi, Does anyone know any resources for software etc for the Nokia 6230? Any help is much appriciated. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Apple makes a product that works with the 6230 called Phone Director (actually for the Mac but not made by Apple) There is also a PC program called Nokia PC Suite I think. Both work well - the Mac program in particular is great - Great phone too.
