Guest durag Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 As posted on howard forums: Having an issue installing some apps on my phone. A few programs won't let me install most notably "Speed Boost" and "Speed Menus" because they "are not intended for use on this phone" - I imagine I must need some type of update but I don't know what. My phone IS app unlocked as well as sim unlocked. I installed the 2.7.1.1 firmware for my phone. Under my "about" screen I have: Version 4.20.0 (Build 13288) Radio Version 1.12.04 What am I missing?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted October 3, 2004 Report Posted October 3, 2004 Both of those apps were written for the 2002 OS and not the 2003 for tweaks hve a look at www.customcabbage.co.uk Moved to Help and Advice
Guest durag Posted October 3, 2004 Report Posted October 3, 2004 Thanks for the reply. Call me slow but I have no idea what to do on this website.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted October 3, 2004 Report Posted October 3, 2004 Select the phone model and then the ame you want to use for the cab. Then make a selection from the list below and enter your email in the To field and click on cabbage it. Once this has been sent to your PC then place it in StorageWindowsstart MenuAccessories on the phone then go to your accessories folder and you will see the cab file there ready to be selected and installed.
Guest durag Posted October 4, 2004 Report Posted October 4, 2004 So I select Voyager as my phone model, ,select the Speed Menus and Speed Boost from the Registry Tweaks section, the cabbage it. Take that .cab file and install it? I did so, and don't really see a whole lot of speed increases. I know that isn't your fault and I'm not trying to whine, I just want to make sure I did it correctly. Thanks.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted October 4, 2004 Report Posted October 4, 2004 You are doing it correctly but I think you are expecting too much as there is only a slight increase not a major boost in speed.
Guest durag Posted October 4, 2004 Report Posted October 4, 2004 O ok, I thought so. I was just thinking I went wrong somewhere in there.....after playing around a little more I see that there is some improvement. Thanks again though.
