I have try orange world free for a month on my c500 at the mo and i rang them this morning to find if they include msn messenger in on this free trial but i was on hold for 9 mins and then he came back and said there a little grey on this area and to contact Microsoft about it, i didn't think this was right but thought oh well will try.

so i'm just wondering wheter anyone knows if MSN messenger is included in this free months trial?

Cheer :)

I *believe* that what I have is free data access for the firt month I am having problems logging on to the Orange website to confirm this (just get a blank page when I submiyt my password) but if so it would include all data incl. MSN, not just Orange world (otherwise I could end up with a very large first bill :!: )

The free month would include MSN Messenger as an Orange World tariff basically gives you a data allowance you can do anything you like with. Just be aware you will probably have to say if you exceed your data allowance. i suggest downloading a copy of the excellent All Locations GPRS Traffic Counter.

Have you downloaded the manual? - It explains a lot better than I can what to do :)

You need to make sure it is set to monitor the correct data connection in your phone, otherwise it won't log any traffic.

After RTFMing I thought I'd sussed it. I was logging data but when I checked this morning and found I'd transfered 140Mb yesterday I panicked!

I was logging BT data and had backed up my phone - D'Oh!

The only other conections I have are IR, USB or different speeds - what do i select for GPRS?

Thanks

I was talkinhg about the traffic counter under settings->connection - what do I select there? GPRS is not an option that is available to me. :)

it wasn't to me until today!

I thought it had something to do with my number being ported over today...i guess

So, Confucious what happened then. Not sure I understood. Are you paying for 140 MB?

For Deanus2004. With Orange it's £1/1MB and you can set that under the counter app

No , I had it set to count my Bluetooth connection and as I had backed my phone up to my PC useing BT I had transferred 140Mb - Not even orange cab charge me for that tho! :)

When I checked again under connections yesterday i had Orange WAp, Orange GPRSetc as well as 115200, 56000 etc and selected Orange GPRS but it is not showing any data being transferred (and I have certainly downlooaded some emails tc),

I have just checked under connections again and now ONLY have the 4 Orange options and no serial port speeds, I have Curr. Conn. set to Orange GPRS and Traffic Counter Enabled but it still isn't regestering anything.

Anyone got any ideas why it's not working for me?

Ok. Ehen I posted yesterday I was not getting anything. Now, without changing anything my data usage is showing up. Strange, but true!
