Guest ajony Posted October 4, 2004 Report Posted October 4, 2004 The home screen layout i used with my smartphone 2002 was simple. There was nothing on the home screen except the carrier, time and date. Now that I upgraded to smartphone 2003 I see all these icons on my screen that i dont want. I cant find any ways to get rid of them. Can someone please provide me with a home screen layout showing just the carrier, time, date and a background image of my choice. Thank you very much. Al

Guest ajony Posted October 4, 2004 Report Posted October 4, 2004 Hi, thanks for replying. After I transfer the files you gave me to StorageApplication DataHome I select the layout from the setting but I get this error message. "No home screen layout can be found. install a valid home screen layout and then select it using the home screen item in settings." How can I fix this? Thanks. Al
Guest Disco Stu Posted October 4, 2004 Report Posted October 4, 2004 Ah yes. Some of them don't work with both 2002 & 2003 OS. You need to edit the xml to make them all work but I don't know how to do that :?
Guest drblow Posted October 4, 2004 Report Posted October 4, 2004 The 'no valid homescreens ...' erro usually comes from images contained in the xml, but not in the correct location. Open the xml file in notepad, and look for any reference to images, which will usually appear like IPSMApplication DataHomexxxx.jpg If there are images in the xml which are not in your folder, then thats why you are getting the error. Then simply copy the relevant images into the relevant folder!
