If I my C500 is searching for devices the filemanager stops and when I try it again it does the same :) What do I do wrong?

ZaeK-666, someone else also had this problem. Search the C500 forum for messages with Bluetooth in it and hopefully you will find an answer.

Definitely saw this recently but can't remember where, sorry bro.

I have the same issue.

About 80-90 % of the time I try and send files by BT using File Manager, when I go to actually 'send' it drops me out of File Manager, and to my usual phone menu or homescreen...

Anyone know why, or where the answer popped up, cos I can't find it either...

Sorry chaps, I honestly can't remember where I saw this problem. Hasn't happened to me using the default file-explorer yet, I haven't sent that much stuff by bluetooth but have transferred to a laptop, to another C500 and also to a Nokia 7650 with no problems. Sorry I can't be more help.....

I've just realised this is exactly what's ahppening to me. It seems intermittent. Sometimes i can send a file sometimes I can't.

I can always receive ok.

Hey, Shadamehr, did you eventually fix this problem yourself?

Weird. I've been using a home screen that I downloaded here. (It's basically a modified version of the windows default screen).

Just out of interest, I changed my home screen back to the default Orange one and now I can send files with bt no problem.

Change the home screen back and it's intermittent (I can send a file 5% of the time).

Kind of mate - I ditched the inbuilt File manager and moved to Binarys Smart Explorer instead and got much better results...

File manager always quits out on me too.

Smart Explorer just seem to like sending files to items which are not paired which is rather annoying.

I also seem to be having problems sending files via bluetooth, when it searches for devices to send to it only bring up a series of numbers and letters rather than the name of the persons phone, this is not a problem until there are more than one person in the room with bluetooth active? how do you know which device is which?? oh by the way the file sends fine everytime even if it was to the wrong person????

Does anyone have a clue what I'm talking about?

Yes Barry - as I mentioned before in this thread, or a similar thread...

But is it Binarys Smart Explorer doing this for you, or the inbuilt File Manager?

That's why I ditched the inbuilt File Manager - all it ever did was indicate the Unique Device ID code for BT devices in range - hardly ever the name, and hardly ever actually letting me transfer either.

So I moved onto Smart Explorer, and whilst NOT perfect, it's been MILES better mate...

I can't seem to get my Bluetooth working at all. I can't tell you if the BT is even working because I do not have a headset or car kit.

Other phones can see my phone but can't send to it.

I can't find any phones using send by IR in either the Windows File Manager or the SmartExplorer.

I tried changing my home screen back to the standard Orange but still having problems. Orange will not help me with it as they do not support transferring files via BT on this phone(?!).

I am getting a bit annoyed with this as my BT might not even be working but I can't test it.

I have paired the device in discoverable mode with a Nokia 6230 and am still unable to send or receive when BT is On or Discoverable.

As stated in the manual... Page 105.

In a VERY VERY vague way indeed - so no need to apologise for being confused mate!

Hi shadamehr,

I took your advice and downloaded Binarys Smartexplorer and my bluetooth woes are over.

Thanks!

If your going to the Meet, we'll discuss it *lol*

But it's a cagey point with the Mods, who made me amend it slightly a LONG while back.

So I'd rather not dwell on it too much.

Thanks for the replies, my bluetooth will now receive from Nokia 6230 and SonyEricsson T610 but I am still unable to find any devices when trying to send through SmartExplorer or the Windows File Manager.

**EDIT** I can now intermittantly send. If anyone else is having trouble double check all these:

To receive set Beam to Receive incoming beams, Bluetooth needs to be either Discoverable or On (I use Discoverable because Nokias search before displaying devices and don't display if just On).

To send use SmartExplorer 2.0.2 from www.binarys.com - it is intermittant (Nokia - havent tried T610 yet) and I have to restart the program sometimes to get it to work.
