Guest brwallace Posted October 5, 2004 Report Posted October 5, 2004 Help! I used my c500 on speakerphone for the first time today and now i can only get it to change to either headset or speakerphone profile. Anyone got any ideas?!! :?:
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted October 5, 2004 Report Posted October 5, 2004 Welcome to the site  speakerphone profile is only accessable when you press and hold the answer button while taking a call. as for headset then that will only be used when you plug your headphones in. Ok I know I'm stating the obvious but have to check these things first :)
Guest brwallace Posted October 6, 2004 Report Posted October 6, 2004 Ok, if my phones on speaker phone(having pressed the answer button mid call) when i end the call it sticks in speakerphone mode and wont change to anything else. If I switch speakerphone mode off mid call, at the end of the call its stuck in headset mode and wont change(this is without my headset being plugged in at anytime!). Im just a little confused!
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted October 6, 2004 Report Posted October 6, 2004 Have you ever used your headset? As this is the first time I've heard this on the C500 it has been a known problem on the SPV with the headset socket becomming faulty.
Guest brwallace Posted October 6, 2004 Report Posted October 6, 2004 Yes Ive used the headphones and they've worked fine. When I plug them in now the profile does switch to headset if I've left it on speakerphone after a call. Still wont let me change to anything else though. I guess its not that much of a problem as I can change the settings to work the way I want them (my phone has to be on silent most of the time) in the two profiles that are available to me. I dont want to hard reset my phone if this is just going to happen again. Thanks for your help so far and I'm happy I seem to have found a unique problem for your brain to work on!
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted October 6, 2004 Report Posted October 6, 2004 If you decide to get a replacement from Orange, they will suggest a hard reset before they will exchange the phone.
Guest brwallace Posted October 6, 2004 Report Posted October 6, 2004 Think ill just go with the hard reset and see what happens then!?!
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted October 6, 2004 Report Posted October 6, 2004 Don't forget a Hard Reset will wipe the phone and return it to it's factory default so make sure you have backed up your contacts etc first.
Guest weeb Posted October 8, 2004 Report Posted October 8, 2004 I'm also having exactly the same problem. I've just installed PocketMusic and whenever I take out the headphones it is stuck in headset profile. This DIDN'T happen with media player! (but MP sucks as an mp3 player) turning the phone on and off does nothing, gonna hard reset but dont really want to have to do that every time I listen to mp3's (2 or 3 times a day!!!)
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted October 11, 2004 Report Posted October 11, 2004 Any update on this problem guys? I'm hoping it's not the SPV problem all over again :?
Guest olly_k Posted October 11, 2004 Report Posted October 11, 2004 try putting headphones back in and (gently) wiggle connector, pull back out and try again??? Also make sure no foreign object is stuck in the headphone jack.
Guest brwallace Posted October 18, 2004 Report Posted October 18, 2004 I hard reset my phone and all seems to be back in working order. I experimented using the speakerphone again and it works and I can still change to other profiles. However, now I'm about to re install all the stuff that was on my phone and see if all is still well!?! Will let you know.
Guest NIGHTMARE Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 go into profiles, reset them all one by one to defalt, reboot the phone and it will work
Guest jwlunt Posted November 23, 2004 Report Posted November 23, 2004 I'm stuck in headset mode as well. The first Orange guy I talked to was great... sent me some ROM updates... nothing changed. Then I got The Crabby Cow In The Orange Call Centre who referred the problem to the technical team (wait time between one and nine days) because it is a new fault. So I escalated... and got another Crabby Cow In The Orange Call Centre. I already have the ROM update from a while back so there's no point in re-applying that. Much gnashing of teeth. I'll let you know. Lunt    Lost Customer
Guest mbeattie Posted December 28, 2004 Report Posted December 28, 2004 Sweet thanks nightware, reseting and then restarting phone has worked. :)
