Installing homescreen

How do I install a homescreen once I have downloaded it?

i have put the xml file in my windows folder on my c500 and clicked on it then gone to settings - home screen and selected it but i get the following error message when i go back to home screen...

"no home screen layouts can be found. install a valid home screen layout and then select it using the home screen item in settings"

What am i oing wrong?

also whats a hme file? and where do i put that?

Ok i got the hme extensions to work but cab and zip display an error message about system something or other

I'm guessing the message is about system permissions etc which means you need to application unlock your phone.

Cab should install the same way as hme.

Zip you have to unpack PC-side first. If not hme /cab inside it will most likely be xml + jpg. Just copy these to Storage(or IPSM) Application Data Home and select in Settings. Skinners who zip them usually include a Read Me

Quickest and easiest way is to check out Ruttensoft Homescreen Designer
