Guest awarner [MVP] Posted October 11, 2004 Report Posted October 11, 2004 I've not tested this but apparently the C500 can play .3GP files in IA Album so it may be possible to do the same with other phones.
Guest topratty Posted October 14, 2004 Report Posted October 14, 2004 thanks Awarner i installed IA ALBUM and it played them no problem thanks
Guest Samsonite Posted October 14, 2004 Report Posted October 14, 2004 my e200 will play .3gp files that i have got from my wifes Nookia and Activesynce'd onto the SD card. I browse the whole card with Smart Explorer and the files come up as a Multimedia Album file and play just fine. Sometimes the sound is a bit wonky but i dont know why. I dont understand why i cant download .3gp files from t'internet. The error screen appears and tells me that the the file is not recognised by the device... shurely shome mishtake? Any ideas?
Guest crafty Posted October 14, 2004 Report Posted October 14, 2004 Samsonite, try this: Fire up Smart Explorer, Press File>Open>Manage File Types... Scroll down to .3gp and press Menu>Edit file Type... Scroll down to the check box that says 'Accept download in IE' and press the action key over it. Press, Done and done again - it'll probably say you need to restart for the changes to take effect. I'm not certain that this will work but it's def worth a try ^_^
Guest Samsonite Posted October 14, 2004 Report Posted October 14, 2004 Crafty - chers for that.. didnt realise that was a function in Smart Explorer... Unfortunately, all i seem to get now is 'Your client is not allowed to access the requested object'. I get this sometimes from various WAP sites and thought it was purely an internet setting mesing up so thought no more of iy. Now i'm thinking that i may have been trying to download .3gp vids... I have been trying to dowload files that i KNOW are movies but this error message is consistently appearing rather than the 'your device is a pile of plop and cant play these movies' ( or something like that...) ^_^) any more bright ideas? I dont want to start a fresh thread to find out cos i havent had a proper Search round the fora yet...
