Hi

The little ‘G’ by the signal strength icon seems to stay on all the time I am running Internet Explorer – and after I have closed it.

My understanding is that this should only be on while data is being transferred?

Anyone else come across this or have the same issue?

Thanks

Damo

'G' Indicates a GPRS Active connection. It is supposed to appear whilst you are using Internet Explorer as it means you are connected to an internet account, if it didnt appear, then something would be wrong! As for it staying on after you leave Internet Explorer, thats normal to, it will eventually time out on its own. If you want to end an active GPRS connection though, just press the Red key upon returning to the home screen, this will disconnect it. If you want to adjust the length of time for the GPRS to time out, you can do that also in settings.

Nope, this doesn't work. To end the GPRS session, press and hold the home key and press disconnect.

thanks for clearing that up...

we only get charged based on data transfer though - not length of connection? right?

I can assure you it does work. They way you suggested works also but takes longer.

EDIT: Yes, you only get charged for sent and received data, not for length of time online.
