You would get on your knees and pray to the gods that one day bluetooth could do such a thing :) in my experience its hard enough getting bluetooth devices to do basic things.....we can all dream

yeah so how do they do all this "bluetoothing" that the papers talk about where random people on trains text each other then end up sh*gging in the station toilets?

Its called "Bluejacking". Do a search for topics on it, it has been covered enough.

If you mean a PROPER text note of any length, then its a convolluted affair to say the least...

You would need to download Ornetta Notepad (it's now available free and legitimate via the msnmobiles website).

Then install this.

This will allow you to type text notes.

You can then save this.

Then, using the normal LONG WINDED Bluetooth file transfer method of our wonderful SMARTphones, you could load up File Manager (on C500), or Binarys Smart Explore (for older devices), and locate the file, which you saved earlier as whatever.txt

Then send this the normal way (i.e. via Infra-red EVEN THOUGH ITS BLUETOOTH we are gonna use), and it will search for devices...

Then, when you find the one you want in BT range, hit send.

This works for Nokia 6230's, Nokia N-Gages and other Symbian based devices, as well as the P900, but it depends on the receiver accepting etc...

Already being paired is a big help...

This works in reverse too, again long-winded, in that if someone sends a text note (and JEEZUZ - how much easier is it on a Nokia!), then the phone will save it as nokia.txt for example, in the my docs folder...

With Ornetta installed, you can browse to the received file and click and open it (if you set up the file association).

Otherwise, it will get opened in Pocket I.E. beleive it or not.

So you can receive on a C500 ok.

But to send, you need Ornetta to type full text notes...

Hope this helps...

Roll on the day when this is EASY to do, like on Nokia DUMBphones *lol*

The normal way to do this is to create a contact with the text as the name, and send it.

Indeed mate, but that was already mentioned prior to my post.

I did start my post by saying:

"If you mean a PROPER text note of any length, then its a convolluted affair to say the least... "

The key being the any length bit.

This is the only real way to send a full message based note of any length.

To do a quick Bluejack, the orginal dawn of time method of using an altered contact entry still applies, as mentioned earlier in here.

Mine was clear in saying a "long message"

HTH mate.

I know that you were only talking about long texts, but it hadn't been mentioned how you normally do it, so that why i posted :D
