GPRS (again...)

Guys, my problem refers to the GRPS availability signal - G. I've tried everything, but I cannot get my phone to turn off this feature. I won't be using GPRS, and want to switch it off.

I've tried the 'double click' on the 'hang-up' key, but that doesn't work. It's been ON since the day I got the phone. Anything else I can try?

If you are referring to a g surrounded with a black box at the centre of the upper display, this does not mean you are connected to gprs, hence you are not being charged.

you are only charged when there is a above / to the right of the signal bar. - this does go away when you disconect as in your post

sqaulll is right, it's ok for the "G" inside a box to appear, unless your seeing the "G" sybol over you signal bar.

If you do not want to use GPRS at all you can ask your network to disable your account, when the do that the Gwill not be shown again.
