Guest mitz Posted October 12, 2004 Report Posted October 12, 2004 Hi guys, Newbie here and need some help. I have a c500 on the orange network. What I would like help is on how I can turn off the auto word inserting feature when writing a text message. I recently had a situation where I had text a few friends with words not suitable for everybodys eyes !!! What happens now is whenever I create a new sms message and am typing the body of my message with the t9 dictionary, the phone automatically inserts or prompts words which I have previously used. I do not like or want this feature on, can someone PLEASE tell me what I can do about it !! Much appreciated.
Guest Brody Posted October 12, 2004 Report Posted October 12, 2004 Not sure if you can turn it off tbh, i've not come across a way of doing so...
Guest chucky.egg Posted October 12, 2004 Report Posted October 12, 2004 I find it confusing too, but you can just ignore it and keep typing the words you want I also get annoyed with my "action" button doing 2 presses sometimes, so if I'm trying to add a new word to the dictionary it keeps inserting it's last guess at the word I want rather than letting me change the word
Guest Brody Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 I've not experienced this I don't think?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted October 14, 2004 Report Posted October 14, 2004 The only thing I hate about T9 is that it does not like you trying to enter the number 0 real pain for me that one ^_^
Guest Brody Posted October 14, 2004 Report Posted October 14, 2004 Ash, on the C500? Just hold zero, works fine for me ^_^
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted October 14, 2004 Report Posted October 14, 2004 DOH ](*,) I was not pressing it long enough ^_^
Guest shadamehr Posted October 14, 2004 Report Posted October 14, 2004 Every time I type the word "at" I get it entering "28" instead... Believe me, pause a moment to consider how bloody frustrating this is - because over time (and lots of nokias) we have all come to know what key combinations will lead to a multiple match scenario and check the phone display as we type one of these... And this isn't historically one of them (I've obviously entered the number 28 in manually while in t9 mode and it has now remembered this), so you keep typing your message, only to get to the end and see loads of "28"s in instead of "at"s. And I can't find how to remove it, and if I manually while typing, tell it to use "at" instead, it DOES NOT remember this word as the most recently used, and suggest it instead the next time, as I have been told the C500 does... Mine doesn't. I need this bug resolved Orange...
