Please help new housing needed

Hi guys recently brought the c500 but ive damaged the casing ^_^ and front lcd,Does anyone know where i can get a replacement front fascia from ,Ive rang HTC but i dont want to send the phone off and i asked them and they wont send me one ,Any help would be appreciated,Ive found a fe dummie C500s on ebay do u think its the same housing and possible to fit this,Im only going to fit a dummy one if the housing is of the same quality

you could search ebay for a dummy case: those used for display purposes. But if you have damaged the LCD then your best bet is to send it off for repair.

So will these actually fit an origional c500 and are they of the same quality,Thanks

The dummy phones use the same cosmetic bits as a production phone. They are just stuck together with some glue stuff and a peice of metal to add the right weight.

I fitted the front off a dummy onto my E200 and it was a doddle. A really cheap facelift for a well worn fascia ^_^

I don't know anyone who has tried it on a C500 yet but I can't imagine it is any different. You just have to be realy careful opening the cases up to avoid damaging them.

So is it a real screen on the phone mate or just a block of plastic wit the picture printed on,As im only wanting a new one becasue ive managed to scratch the screen alot,Alos i did email a seller on ebay and he told me they were glued together but are they easily undone and have the necessary screw holes,Thanks

I assume the C500 is built like the E200 with a plastic screen as part of the front fascia that sits in front of the actual LCD. So when you replace the fascia, you also replace your scratched screen - you don't need to replace the LCD.

However, before you go ahead and do this I suggest we get someone to confirm this is how the C500 is built. Can anyone confirm this?

I also note the C500 is screwed together unlike the E200 which was just clipped. Has anyone dissembled the C500?

Ok steve thanks alot mate for the info,I know the c500 is srewed together for defiante but do you think the dummy housing will have the screw holes also,I might just buy 1 anyway as they are going for only £5.
