Software Unlocking C500 - Is it worth doing?

Hi,

Can anyone explain the benefits of 'software unlocking' my C500. I'm not a developer but I've seen several posts saying it's worth doing if you want to run freeware apps.

Some skins with extra screens need full app. unlocking and certainly a lot of software you may well want to use requires it, eg. Sprite Backup.

Since it is free and easy to do, I can't think of a reason not to.

Registered on developers.orange.com as I beleive this is the way to do it. I'm a bit nervous about using the unlock-all zip above. From other posts the orange way is the only way.....

No way.

I've unlocked all my SPVs, E200s and C500 with no problems. The Orange developers' OTA service is the one to go for.

In my experience the phone is very stable and can handle pretty much everything dodgy you throw at it. Nobody has ever reported a link between software unlocking and phone crashes.

Nor will it even get mentioned if you have to send the phone back.
