Guest CEO Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 Talk aobut price/battery time/bluetooth support/... Thank you.
Guest Confucious Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 They are basically the same product so performance should be the same. As for price, it depends where you are.
Guest VovaVovaCuma Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 Everything is same, except phone name and price...
Guest niacin65 Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 It's my understanding that the I-Mate doesn't support JAVA.....correct?
Guest Confucious Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 What gives you that idea? AFAIK they are the same phone with different branding.
Guest Dark Horse Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 The Orange version is sim locked but they do give you a 16MB mini-SD card that unfortunately is pretty useless as its full of trial software and too small for anything else. The Orange version also come with a different home screen plug-in and the usual crap Orange customisations that no one uses. If this doesn't bother you, then go for the Orange version as its heavily subsidised. Regards, Dark Horse
Guest midnight Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 err, you can remove all the trial software you know ^_^
Guest niacin65 Posted October 14, 2004 Report Posted October 14, 2004 What gives you that idea? AFAIK they are the same phone with different branding. Here is a quote from the I-Mate website: Q : Does the i-mate™ SP3 support Java? Later i-mate™ SP3’s have a Java client installed. If your device has the client, you will find in the “Start” menu and is called “Java”. . I may have misunderstood it to mean early versions didn't support it, but maybe they meant it just wasn't included...? The ROM for the O2 (xphone) didn't include JAVA, even though it was the same 'ol Voyager. I never tried to install it, so maybe both companies just meant it didnt COME with Java, but it would run if installed?
Guest VovaVovaCuma Posted October 14, 2004 Report Posted October 14, 2004 In my SP3 ( 2 days old ) I dont have JAVA... how to install it into the phone?
Guest NoBackUp Posted October 15, 2004 Report Posted October 15, 2004 SP3 NO DUST (3 weeks old now) NO JAVA (Yep it ant there) No ISSUES with the Backlight it works as stated So the SP3 does have a different OS than the C500 and the people who are reporting a hardware problem with the Backlight are looking in the wrong area... The SP3i will be out here (Dubai) within the next few weeks and my mother in law (God Bless her grave ..ooops) will be bringing me an SDA/SDA Music from germany so I'll get back on that comparison later... ^_^
