Guest tattoo_uk Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 I've got an E100 and haven't used it for some time as it stopped charging, it was already out of warranty by the time this happened (seems about right) so I was wondering if anyone has had similar problems (am I lucky enough to just need to buy a new battery) or if anyone knows of somewhere that will not charge the earth to take a look and possibly fix it. NOTE: The phone powers on and will stay on through the mains charger. I can take the battery out and start the phone up plugged in to just the mains and though this obviously removes the portability option a bit :-(
Guest squall Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 check the connectors on the back of the phone and on the battery for damage etc, does the LED on the top right of phone show anything when you try to switch on using battery?
Guest tattoo_uk Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 I have checked the connectors and all seems fine and this stopped working without so much as being tapped so not sure what has happened. I have plugged the charger in with the phone turned of and the light shows solid yellow/orange. If I then turn the phone on the light goes off, it boots, then get a warning saying that the battery is low. If I leave it on mains it flashed yellow, if I take it off mains it flashes red. I have also noticed that the radio is showing as being off and if I try and turn it on it fails and asks if I want to try again, I do not have a sim in it at this point but was not sure if the radio will come on when this is inserted or if I should be able to turn it on with no sim in.
Guest tattoo_uk Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 OK, where do I send the cheque. Was recommeded Modaco today by a guy at work, had my E100 sitting around for ages and now doing anything. Was thinking of going out and buying a cheap Pic Phone so I could send MMS using my O2 sim card. So gave this place a try and in the course of less than an hour and mainly through articles posted by squall I have achieved everything I could have hoped for, I have got the sim recognised, the charging problem was sorted by upgrading the ROM and I am a happy happy boy! This site is going in at the top of my favourites list, great to find a place where people know what they are talking about! Thanks for all the help!
Guest biggie9385 Posted October 18, 2004 Report Posted October 18, 2004 has your phone been totally drained from it power? i know of someone whoe phone is about a week old but it won't charge any more. We found out that it was caused by his phone's battery being totally drained. Thanks.
