Are there any? To post blogs to the popular sites like Livejournal, Blogger etc

& read blogs with an option to not load images (for bandwidth reasons)

There are RSS Readers out there to read blog via their XML feeds.

I petitioned the makers of PocketSharpMT to port their app from the PPC over to the Smartphone since it's written in .NET...but they dont seem to have the time (of the phone). I would love this app too.

pIE can do that, menu > options > general > untick 'show pictures'

Blog by smartphone? How do you input? I think it's so trouble to input blog.

Damn - another area where Symbian is winning this game (for now) hands down.

My brother's 7610 has Lifeblog software already on the phone when unboxed...

Bollox.

Come on Smartphone world - we have (potentially) the best phone type out there - if software vendors would only work with it!

This has been covered here on a previous thread:

As the last poster says, it is possible to email updates to Blogger - so this might be the easiest option at the moment.

I'm sure an app would be possible.... hey! Everything is possible! ^_^

Or now that the C500 has Java support - how about trying this:

Depends how much you write really - it's fine if your post is short & maybe you could be uploading a picture too taken from the mobile cam

You definitely want TextAmerica then if you want to include pics.

Lots of other people here on MoDaCo use it.

Hey, tahnks for the link ^_^

I'll check it out when I get back from work.

Why I log on when I'm already running late for work though is beyond me :/

Ok, this one is going out to all the TextAmerica experts out there...

I've signed up, and set it up. I now have (EDIT) THREE questions...

1. How do i get it to add a text descriptor when I add a photo via MMS - it adds the photo to my Moblog fine, but just says "Multimedia Message" instead of the text I typed in my MMS... And when I edit these manually, my title gets listed alongside my thumbnail, and is duplicated as the description also - how do I set a title and a DIFFERENT description? (See my Moblog to see what I mean).

(EDIT - sorted)

2. How do you do that clever thing, where you add some code to your signature, so that it displays your most recent Moblog image in your Modaco signature strip...?

3. Is there any way to get text to run ALONGSIDE my image in my signature strip, instead of wasting all that white space?

(EDIT - Still curious as to No.3)

(Scratch number 2 - I've cracked it....)

Cheers guys.

I was bored, so I've started work on a LiveJournal client for .Net CF devices (E200, C500 etc).

I've got the most basic of basic clients done, but it works.

This is early test software, so no cabs or installation files. Just a plain old .exe.

Get it here (Right mouse click, save as).

Cool. Keep going! It would be nice to have MT Support as well.

Aha! I'll look into it. ^_^

Has anyone used the LiveJournal one (see above) then?

I was talking to a friend last night who showed me an early version of his companies Blog client, probably to be released in a few weeks time (but don't quote me).

It had simple interface (similar to the Symbian Series 60 folder views), lets you upload pics (with or without added text) to public and private "albums", and uploads in the background so you can still use the phone while it's doing it. Uploads are via regular GPRS, so no MMS bill either.

Looked really nice - very easy to use. Apparently somebody at MS demo'd it to Uncle Bill a couple of weeks ago, so somewhere on their site their is probably a snap of Bill with a cheesy grin!

Actually, I've got the phone now, but I've been spending the majority of my "coding time" working on porting the desktop version to Beta 1 of Visual Studio 2005... cleaning up a whole lot of stuff (and probably breaking some stuff, I'm sure) but the plan is still to get it over to SmartPhone some day...

because of the differences in the network and XML libraries between desktop and compact .NET, I don't have a "shared" library when talking to MT... and what's more, I believe that phones should always have a custom UI designed, so there's some addition work there.

Just a matter of time
