Guest RossDargan Posted October 14, 2004 Report Posted October 14, 2004 2 part question - firstly any clues when this will be out for the smartphone yet?! secondly I upgraded my computer to media player 10, and now it wont see my smart phone - so I cant sync music to it - this was a very convenient way for me to put albums on and I cant do it anymore!! and clues people?
Guest shadamehr Posted October 14, 2004 Report Posted October 14, 2004 Ross, The BETA version fo WMP 10 had this very problem, as well documented on this site. But the FINAL proper release works fine for the rest of us. (Allbeit, for reasons unknown, it just simply WON'T allow Bluetooth connection - its cable only). So are you sure you have the latest version. If all else fails, try a re-install on the PC..?
Guest ghm101 Posted October 14, 2004 Report Posted October 14, 2004 Check Windows Update. I had media player 10 Beta Installed and when MP V10 final(?) was released (earlier this week I think) it came up as a download in Windows Update when I checked. some new patches for xp there as well - business as usual from MS
Guest kie Posted October 14, 2004 Report Posted October 14, 2004 RD, trying to get an answer to your first question in this thread
Guest ghm101 Posted October 14, 2004 Report Posted October 14, 2004 Re Availability of Media Player 10 for Smart phone There is some recent discussion in the newsgroup microsoft.public.smartphone under the topic "Playlists" Your question is asked there and a Robert Levy replies: "Yeah, there is an updated version of Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition which includes WMP 10. Each mobile operator is responsible for choosing if/when/how to deploy this update to their customers. -- Robert Levy Program Manager Mobile Devices Product Group" So I guess you get WMP10 if/when Orange provide an update to the C500 OS. Aparently the OS update is needed for WMP10 to work - see the NG Topic for further details

Guest tmaniac Posted October 16, 2004 Report Posted October 16, 2004 i hope they fixed the mp3 playback in wmp10 for smartphone....i hate the sharpness of the sound (to much treble)
Guest Dr Who Posted October 17, 2004 Report Posted October 17, 2004 Software or hardware, tmaniac? Do any mp3 decoders give good playback on the C500?
Guest plantagoo Posted October 17, 2004 Report Posted October 17, 2004 Hi! I always built my ringtones with the WMP9 synchronize feature and changed all formats (wav, wma, mp3 etc.) to 32bit wma. WMP10 only allows me to built 64bit wma as the first option - 32bit is gone. Do you have any idea how I can get the 32 bit back? Greetings plantagoo
