Guest shadamehr Posted October 14, 2004 Report Posted October 14, 2004 OK folks... this is running across THREE seperate threads now, but can anyone GENUINELEY confirm,if they actually managed to install it ok..? I keep getting "not digitally signed errors" BUT, (and please read before offering a reply folks), my phone is ABSOLUTELY Application Unlocked. I just made sure once more, by running the specific Security Levels tool Orange sent me, specific to my IMEI. I set the securiyt not just to Low, but to "No Security" Then rebooted the phone to make sure. And tried installing Opera, and got the same "not digitally signed" error. How the hell can ou get a "not signed" error on a totally application unlocked phone...? So can anyone actually confirm they have installed this on a C500 yet...?
Guest ferret Posted October 14, 2004 Report Posted October 14, 2004 Not me but it works great on my e200, and it supports frames! Seems a lot faster than pIE too.
Guest shadamehr Posted October 14, 2004 Report Posted October 14, 2004 Thread: http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php...p=458956#458956 Covers my issue - er, would you believe, incomplete cab file downloaded. BLOODY STUPID error message for the phone to display though... Why not something like "Cab file is corrupt" or something...
Guest roozbeh Posted October 15, 2004 Report Posted October 15, 2004 anybody knows it is going to be 2002 version?!! why nobody give damn to these 2002 users? ^_^(
Guest fozzie Posted October 15, 2004 Report Posted October 15, 2004 why nobody give damn to these 2002 users? Because they are like, soooooo last year ^_^ C'mon dude, you've gotta move with the times...
Guest Phil Lee Posted October 15, 2004 Report Posted October 15, 2004 It installs and works fine here. There's one problem I have. I can't get it to use the ActiveSync pass through. Has anyone been able to do this successfully?
Guest drblow Posted October 15, 2004 Report Posted October 15, 2004 Hmm ... I've been looking forward to this since it was announced, but I have to say my initial reaction is that it's a little disappointing! ^_^ I can't see any way of setting favourites - I know it keeps a history, but thats not quite as good as a favourites list I think. It also seems to be difficult to input passwords, as the little asterisk appears without showing you which letter has been selected. Is there a user help file anywhere? & does anyone know an email address to send comments about the beta version?
Guest Phil Lee Posted October 15, 2004 Report Posted October 15, 2004 I agree, it is a pain that you can't store favourites and the password entry is poor too. Also I can't see any way to clear cookies.
Guest Ravis Posted October 15, 2004 Report Posted October 15, 2004 Well I've been waiting eagerly for this since Opera's press release a few months ago. I gotta say I'm incredibly disappointed that it's 2003 only. 2003 already has a decent browser (PIE) it's the 2002 users that need a replacement. And that comment about keeping with the times... I mean, come on! The phone isn't that old - not everyone replaces their handset every 6 months (especially over here where handsets are not subsidized in any way)... I still hope that the technical release is 2003 only, and the actual version will be 2002 compatible, but it might be wishful thinking. ^_^
Guest fozzie Posted October 15, 2004 Report Posted October 15, 2004 Guys, it's a "technical preview", not a Beta. It's documented what features are present & missing! I think they know that Favourites etc. are needed. I like it a lot, particularly the full screen mode. I've had no problems with the technical features on preview at all, so far ^_^ Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest Confucious Posted October 15, 2004 Report Posted October 15, 2004 Because they are like, soooooo last year :D C'mon dude, you've gotta move with the times... Sorry, I thought 2003 was last year.... ^_^
Guest fozzie Posted October 15, 2004 Report Posted October 15, 2004 I know, it's mad isn't it. We get new operating systems dated last year but games and road atlases dated next year! Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest Motofone Posted October 15, 2004 Report Posted October 15, 2004 Phil Lee It installs and works fine here. There's one problem I have. I can't get it to use the ActiveSync pass through. Has anyone been able to do this successfully? To pass thru. Set settings/data connections/ Internet to Automatic Set ActiveSync / options/ rules/ passthrough to internet I also set Pie Options/connections to Automatic Works OK for me cheers
Guest Cybertronic Posted October 15, 2004 Report Posted October 15, 2004 Is it me that the navigation is very poor? ^_^ I can't get to click on most of the links displayed on the pages
Guest ferret Posted October 15, 2004 Report Posted October 15, 2004 Agreed Cybertronic, navagation is a bit strange, takes some getting used to. Use up and down to scroll through pages. Left and right to select links visible within the screen. Dr Blow, They've asked for feedback and comments here -> http://my.opera.com/forums/showthread.php?...&threadid=69630
