...phone was in my bag yesterday & it only got a little damp but when i got it home the screen was not even a bit happy, it's currently inverted colours, not very bright and the external lcd is off it's rocker...

...it's been in the airing cupboard all day & it's just as bad...suggestions anybody? i am backing it up as i type, that doesn't seem to be working but then again it wouldnt sync about a week ago when i last tried.

Both screens are mucking around, i dont think im gonna get this one on warranty...help?

If its still dodgy after giving it time to dry chances are you wont be able to fix it. If you have an orange contract you could get an emergency replacememt for £70 ish pounds (its been a long time since i last used this, the price may be different)

As the phone cost £50 new i'm loath to make use of the emergency replacement...plus the clock reset itself, which i found weird, i've had the battery out before but it never did that...i'm wondering if a hard reset might help matters...that and i couldnt sync anymore...

Turn the phone off, remove the battery and do not attempt to

power it on for a good few days.

Hopefully you have not permanently damaged :?

usually when the LCD is inverted colors, means that the PCB that controls the LCD is out of order. I had this happen once to my ipaq, and they replaced the motherboard.

I once dropped my nokia 7110 in a glass of guiness and my T68 in toilet pan  The only reason they survived is because I imediatly stripped the phones including RFI screens etc and soacked them in Isopropyl Alcohol for a good 20 minutes or so. I then very carefully cleaned any residue off the board that remained. They both survived indefinately after that - which surprised me with the 7110 ^_^

Letting the phone dry out slowly is what may cause a lot of damage - the water itself isn't a problem but the impurities in the water are - also as the air evaporates the water this is where corrosion will start to set in :D

And that's something I keep in my back pocket all the time! ^_^

You wouldn't have to do it straight away - I didn't with the T68 - I just made a point of not drying it as far as possible BUT I did remove the battery straight away. That's all.
