Hi

I play "Atomic bomberman" alot with my frinds and was wondering if this game has been or can be portet for smartphones.

It is a very cool game even in single player. I think it is a quite simple game so it should be possible to port....I think.

it's only possible to PORT a game if there is Source available... even if an application only says HI to you and then quits it can't be ported UNLESS there is source.. though if it was made for a console too you might wanna try an emulator

we should make some rules about these questions :S

Think it's just a language thing. Since Bomberman source code isn't available, it wouldn't be possible to PORT it. However it would be possible to REWRITE it on SPV.

Paraphrased from Google:

Port ... refers to translating a piece of software to bring it from one type of computer system to another, e.g. to translate a Windows program so that is will run on a Macintosh.

... and for what it's worth, I agree, we need a Bomberman clone for SPV. Maybe I should have a stab at writing one...!

I don't know if I'm the only one, but it pisses me off when someone makes a post about a port request. It's almost as if they think it's just a matter of recompiling the code.

its worse when they write the subject as if the game is complete :x

I am very sorry if I have disturbed your use of this forum. I didn't know that it was a problem in here. I will never mention game porting again then:-)

Gotta say - that all seems a bit harsh.

Some people are not aware that porting a game requires source (although technically it doesnt, it just requires someone to re-write the code).

Give the guy a break - he likes the game and was asking if it exists/is possible.

its like everyone is a programmer!

He just had a nice idea and wanted to share it with us.

He cant help it that he is unaware of the consequences of his question.

I didn't know either a port is so much work, seemed like a little something to me. How would i know? :D

BTW i hope a bomberman clone will come to sp soon, i like the game too ^_^

You can always get the Java version, as far as I know, such a game has not been ported to smartphone. But I guess you could always wait for AIM productions to release something similar, since they like making little games for smartphone.

yep I have the Java version already but its not quite as fun as the real one hehe.

I really hope they will make a version for the smartphone...its a classic almost like tetris:-)

Ok thanks agent.m:-)

mattie01 I think you can buy it on several homepages where they sell Java games. I don't remember where I bought mine but if I find out I will tell you. It is from when I had my Ericsson T610 hehe.
