Guest mrbuick4525 Posted October 14, 2004 Report Posted October 14, 2004 I read the PC magazine review on the new audiovox version of the c500 and it said that you could put up to 256 mb into the phone, is that true or can you use a 512mb card in the phone?
Guest derbytm Posted October 14, 2004 Report Posted October 14, 2004 Others have reported that it does support cards over 256MB so I believe the PCMag review is incorrect. ^_^ The only difference in these ROMs (between the C500, iMate Sp3 and Audiovox) are the bands they support and any custom apps they put on. The core is ultimately the same so I can't see them changing something as fundamental as memory support from one version to another..
Guest mrbuick4525 Posted October 14, 2004 Report Posted October 14, 2004 thanks, that about clinches it that i'll be buying this phone over the mpx220, because of all the negative reports i've heard.
Guest lanrover Posted October 15, 2004 Report Posted October 15, 2004 Seems like the AudioVox has WM2003 with AKU2 which includes WM10. SP3 and C500 have WM9.

I can vouch for 512MB in the SMT5600 - it works fine. Takes a while to fill with a USB 1.1 interface though...
