A few questions from a C500 new (advanced) owner

Hi,

Just bought a 2nd hand C500. I was (and still) using a Qtek 7070 before since 1 year.

(in other words, I'm not 100% new in this world ^_^ )

Got some questions about C500 :

1) App lock

I just de simlocked my phone (with www.imei-check.co.uk), app unlocked it (via Orange OTA, bot the confirmation on screen, as stated on site).

But when I start an unsigned prog, I still have the same message as before app unlock. I thought app unlock will remove those warning message. Am I wrong ? How can I check if app unlock really worked ?

2) Screen blanker

I disabled screen blanker in prefs. When I start the phone, enter my pin code, validate and do nothing, the screen is blank after a few sec. If I hit a key (like "joystick" up or down), screen will never be blank anymore. Bug ?

It's very annoying.

3) Regedit

I launch PHM regedit, start a search ... the phone reboot (and no more GSM part, like in flight mode).

4) Backup

On the Qtek, I can start in special menu and backup all IPSM on a card, without a PC. It's so useful ! No way to do it on the C500 ?

5) "joystick"

How can I change this awful joystick with one like my Qtek :P

(OK, I know I will have to buy a i-mate sp3i :P )

1, The warning messages will still appear, thats quite normal to make sure it asks before running any potentially dangerouis programs such as virii

2, I think thats normal, its done that on other Smartphones aswell

3, Yup, PHM Regedit needs a much needed update me thinks, there was a few similar bugs on the E200

4, not sure, dont think so

5, you said it, only byreplacing the phone, although hopefully all games developers will allow for key define to help resolve any potential gaming issues.
