Guest AaronW Posted October 15, 2004 Report Posted October 15, 2004 What is the difference between bluetooth discoverable or bluetooth on? How do they each effect the battery? Thanks.
Guest Kevlarski Posted October 15, 2004 Report Posted October 15, 2004 Not sure at what rate they affect the battery but Discoverable basically means other devices searching will pick up yours. If just set to On only those who have paired with you or connected before can connect to you, nothing will appear in the search. I can receive files in both modes but tend to just use discoverable as alot of devices will search everytime bluetooth is accessed. I haven't worked out a way to pick up a previously paired device on a Nokia 6230 when On is selected on the C500.
Guest evans.rhys.gavin Posted October 15, 2004 Report Posted October 15, 2004 im being a bit off topic here sorry but the thing is how do you send via bluetooth iv'e managed to recieve a file off my m8s k700 any ideas thanks
Guest Confucious Posted October 15, 2004 Report Posted October 15, 2004 Discoverable is only for when something is searching for you. Once you have paired with a device you dion't wannt to have to search each time so you leave it turned on.
Guest phAn Posted October 15, 2004 Report Posted October 15, 2004 sending files is done by selecting the file in the c500's file explorer, menu >> send >> send via infrared (I have a Dutch ROM, my translation might be different from what it says on your device). In any case, selecting send through infrared will automatically search for bluetooth devices as well. There have been reported problems receiving big files (~>500kb) via bluetooth with the c500 by the way.
Guest RickDawson Posted October 17, 2004 Report Posted October 17, 2004 Smart Explorer will allow you to send over bluetooth
