I think the silver ones were meant to be exclusive to Orange Premier ^_^

yeah so did i but it seems like they send them out as replacements as well . It seems to be exactly the same as the black one tho in terms of build quality etc, but in my opinion looks nicer

i ordered my 3rd one....the last 2 had dead pixels in the screen.......i picked up my 2nd one...and in the shop i checked for pixels and immediatly spotted a dead pixel (and this phone was brand new out-of-the-box!!!)

Mine had a dead pixel, you could only see it when using the camera or viewing a pic though...unfortunately i smashed the screen so it's currently being replaced. Atl east i should have a fully working screen now ^_^

Incedentally HTC didn't have any silver facias, so my c500 will be half silver, half black for a while until htey get the silver facia's back in!

When the phone has a dead pixel, could i justsay to orange that my phone has a dead pixel or would i have to damage my fone?

For Beejeezus sakes dont damage your phone intentionally just because of a blown pixel. A blown pixel is a warranty defect and will be covered as such. Just tell Orange you have a dead pixel on your screen and they should arrange a replacement. Dont take any crap from them either if they argue with you, you are in the right.

I am getting a relpacement today from orange - they doing a 6pm-10pm collection/delivery - that was good of them.

Anyway, see if I get a silver one, I do want a black one though!

Problem with mine is one of the keys (*) has gone all soggy like - it does not click properly and feels really sh!tty. I kinda feel bad replacing a phone for such a small problem. My E200 did it, but came right after a couple months. I have only had this like a month, so decided to get it replaced.

What problems have you been having with your C500's.

My first black C500 had a dead pixel and was replaced next day in the Orange shop.

My second Black C500 had a faulty earpiece which vibrated / distorted when listening to a caller speak. This fault did not affect the loudspeaker when playing movies or sounds.

None of my phones have had the dust problem (though I have kept the protective film over the screen on all three) and none have had the "TSS" sound when playing media files. Not that I've heard anyway!!!

The Silver one seems OK still. The gap round the power button seems a bit larger than the other two but it may be a bit of an optical illusion due to the different colour, but I am thinking of placing a piece of clear tape over it just to be on the safe side.

I quite fancy a silver one... Wonder if I can convince Orange that there is something wrong with my phone.... :-)
