Guest stevehaigh Posted October 15, 2004 Report Posted October 15, 2004 I have an SPV E 200 and have upgraded the ROM to 2.7.1.1 but the headset will not now work. Can I revert to the older ROM, and how do I do it? Otherwise, can I get the M3000 to work with the upgraded E200?
Guest 21alpha Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 What problems are you having? I have the same firmware & plantronics M3000 and use it no problem Perhaps I can help? Regards 21alpha
Guest stevehaigh Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 Hi 21Alpha, Since upgrading to the new rom, I have tried to pair the headset, this seems to work OK but then I can't get the headset to respond either to an outgoing call or an incoming call. It did work once, but when I came to use it the following day, it didn't work. I have checked the FAQs and other posts which seem to suggest it will work. It used to work all the time and very well before, if I can't get it working then I am considering downgrading to the old rom. Can you let me know how you pair it up? I can't think I am doing it wrong but I may be and it could have ben a fluke for it to work.
Guest 21alpha Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 If this doesn't work, then first try and delete the M3000 profile and recreate it, or failing that, re-do the same firmware. I have never had to downgrade the firmware before, therefore I cannot say whether this would be the right thing to do. It could be a faulty headset too? Can you try it with another phone? Have you made sure the headset is fully charged also? Ok, the way I create the profile then pair is; 1. Start, Settings, Bluetooth 2. Change Mode to discoverable (not on) 3. Menu, Bonded Devices 4. Menu, New At this point, make sure you start the headset into pairing mode by; 1. Hold the call control and volume up buttons simultaneously on the headset until the headset goes static read, then I think it flashes green (not got it in front of me at the moment). Should only need to hold it for a couple of seconds anyway before it goes into pairing search mode. The E200 should find the headset after a few seconds, choose add, then accept the question to add the headset as your default headset profile. You will now see the headset in your bonded devices list. What I do then, when I wish to use the headset, is I turn the headset on first. Then turn the bluetooth on, on the E200, but put the mode to "ON" (not discoverable). Go to bonded devices, highlight the headset profile (M3000), select done, done again. The E200 will pause for a few seconds at the Bluetooth menu whilst it bonds with the headset again, then you will be able to back out to your home page. When I make or receive calls, I usually wait a second or so after pressing the call control button before expecting anything to happen. Hope this helps Regards 21alpha
Guest stevehaigh Posted October 21, 2004 Report Posted October 21, 2004 21Alpha, Thanks, I have checked your information, it is exactly as I Have been doing it. I therefore decided to kep trying it, I set it up checked it then deleted it and now it seems to be working, well done, you gave me the confidence to keep trying the way I was doing it. I don't know why it didn't work, but it does now, thank you again. Steve.
Guest 21alpha Posted October 21, 2004 Report Posted October 21, 2004 Hey, no problem, glad to be of service. You got there in the end, nice1. Perseverance eh! Regards 21alpha
Guest puckster Posted November 1, 2004 Report Posted November 1, 2004 Hey guys, Can you tell me what sort of range you get with your E200's and the M3000? I use the i-mate SP2 and it bonds OK but the range (distance) that it works over is garbage. If the phone is within line of sight from the headset i get around 2 feet before losing quality and getting major static in the earpiece however as soon as i put the phone in my pocket it loses quality immediately even with the phone held in my hand. Currently there is major discussion whether this is hardware or software related and i-mate have just announced that there will never be another update for the SP2 so i am trying to find out if the M3000 works better with other devices based on the HTC Voyager. Thanks Chris
Guest 21alpha Posted November 1, 2004 Report Posted November 1, 2004 all I can say is that I am experiencing the same problems as u r. If I use it whilst walking, I hold the E200 in my hand. If in the car, I usually have it located no more than 2feet away.
Guest lsuhe Posted November 3, 2004 Report Posted November 3, 2004 I used my M3000 with my Fiance's SE T610 and the range was about 7metres or so, and manged into the next room through a clsosed door, very good, far superior to that of the E200. I'm sure that it is the range on the e200 that is poor and not the M3000. Chris
