Guest wookieloou Posted October 16, 2004 Report Posted October 16, 2004 I don't know how it is over there in europe but over in Seattle, WA USA traffic is a big problem. My girlfriend lives about an hours drive away and there as a lot of different freeway choices based on the time of day and traffic situation. On my Treo 600 PalmOS had an app that showed realtime traffic making it very simple and convenient to whip out my phone and see the traffic conditions on the way somewhere. I know that the Washington State Department of Transportation runs a website with an auto-updating .gif that displays all of the information I would need, making it pretty simple. The only thing is that it requires going to the website, downloading the .gif url, opening the image, zooming in to something relatively readable and scrolling around. Anyone have any suggestions or any program possibilities with something like this? URL below. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and if you use paypal and make something decent I would not be apprehensive to give some compensation ^_^ Cheers! http://images.wsdot.wa.gov/nwflow/flowmaps...map_Seattle.gif
Guest nickcornaglia Posted October 16, 2004 Report Posted October 16, 2004 Search for a program called SmartTraffic. I believe that's what it's called. EDIT: Forget it...here it is: http://www.pharosgps.com/smartphone/ Seattle is included in cities listed for the service.
Guest wookieloou Posted October 18, 2004 Report Posted October 18, 2004 I downloaded the trial the check it out and every time I try and pull traffic information it's asking for username/password, which they don't assign yet. I don't see how to utilize the "trial" portion of the software, no menus that help any. Can anyone shed any light on this? If it's decent I'll buy it most definately, but I wanna check it out first.
