Guest Sul... Posted October 16, 2004 Report Posted October 16, 2004 I have a problem with syncing my outlook contacts. Basically what I did was, within Outlook 2003 I rearranged my contacts into folders. So rather than having 'contacts' with everything in there, I made folders below it like 'business' 'friends and family' etc. and moved the relevant addresses in those folders. Just now though when I synced the phone with outlook it wiped all the other contacts other than those just in the 'contacts' folder. Is there anyway I can sort this problem so they both work together. Also has this made any sense :? Thanks in advance :D Sul... (posted from my PC ^_^ )
Guest dave archer Posted October 16, 2004 Report Posted October 16, 2004 Use Outlook categories instead of sub folders to organise your contacts. Contacts app on phone supports them. HTH Dave.

Sorry to sound like a complete n00b, but how do you do this on Outlook Office 2003?? I have looked (sadly for about an hour and a half  ) but I can't seem to find this within the program.
Guest nickcornaglia Posted October 17, 2004 Report Posted October 17, 2004 You didnt look very hard. Upon editing or creating a contact there is a categories field right on the edit screen. There you can choose an existing category or goto the Master Category list to create new categories. The help section in outlook is very good as well.
Guest motompx220 Posted October 20, 2004 Report Posted October 20, 2004 A few related questions about the Contacts w/ the MPX220: Has anyone figured out how to set a category filter as the (permanent) default? I've synched my contacts successfully, but did run into a few issues. While some of my contacts are completely synched, others are not. Generally speaking it's with the E-mail field; for some contacts their email address is synched to the phone successfully, and others it's not. Any ideas on how to make sure all fields are synched? Also, I've noticed that sometimes if you delete a contact from your phone and then re-synch your contacts w/ Outlook that deleted contact will not be added again. I suppose this is a "feature" but is there a way to disable this globally or on a case-by-case basis? Thanks all!
